Executive Team

Executive Director, Robby Stevenson

In 2015, then Corporal R. Stevenson, experienced a new calling on his heart to find a way to ease some of the fears and stresses that career minded first responders face in their high-risk professional environment. Stevenson got together with two of his fellow officers Warren Tillman and Joseph Tabaniag, who also felt called to this mission.

Robby M. Stevenson, grew up in a low income suburban family in the City of DeSoto, Dallas County, Texas during the inflation years of the 70’s and the construction market collapse of the 80’s. Stevenson experienced his family’s financial struggles and the stresses it placed on his parents. At the age of 14 with the fear of God and his Faith in Jesus he started working his summers off from school in the searing Texas heat learning the family plumbing business. Toward the end of the 80’s the family business collapsed and Stevenson went to work part-time for one of the most successful businesses in retail history “Wal-Mart.”

Upon graduating from DeSoto High School in 1988, Stevenson set out to further his education in the college setting and attended Dallas County Community College Mountain View. This path however did not work out due to his family’s financial struggles which led him to take a full-time position with Wal-Mart.

Stevenson rose from a stock clerk position to Department Manager, Store Support Team Manager and Night Receiving Manager. Stevenson, while conducting a Wal-Mart Supercenter set up in Temple, Texas also had the pleasure of meeting Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton. Stevenson appeared to be on the move with the company but held a servant’s calling in his heart.

In 1993, Stevenson left the company to serve his country and joined the U.S. Navy. Stevenson served aboard the USS Tarawa LHA-1 rising from E-1 to E-4 in rank. Stevenson enjoyed the service, structure, and the experience that the U.S. Navy provided.

In 1997 Stevenson met the love of his life and married his wife Mistelle N Stevenson (Roberts). It was in that same year that the U.S. Navy offered reenlistment. Stevenson, with the new desire to raise a family and feeling that his servant’s calling was more community oriented, received an honorable discharge and returned to Texas. Stevenson attended Dallas County Community College Cedar Valley and graduated from Cedar Valley College Police Academy in 1998.

Stevenson began his Law Enforcement career with the City of Waxahachie, Texas Police Department, then to Dallas County Sheriffs Office, and currently holds the rank of Sergeant with the City of DeSoto, Texas Police Department.

Stevenson and his wife Mistelle of 21 years are blessed with four children and currently reside in a rural Ellis County Texas community. Stevenson enjoys spending his free time with his family and continues to serve the public in his law enforcement role.

Stevenson believes that all First Responders hold a desire and a calling to serve others and their gift of service has proven its worth to all the lives that have been saved as a result of their service. Stevenson supports and trusts in the mission of SFS Shield Family Services and prays that God’s blessing and favor will be upon its good works.
